Westdale Bank Robber Arrested

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a 20-year-old Etobicoke man in relation to a bank robbery. He appeared in court on April 10, 2019.

On February 4, 2019, shortly after 1 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a bank robbery that occurred at the Scotia Bank located at 999 King Street West in Hamilton. Through investigation, police learned two males entered the bank and vaulted the counter. They obtained an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and then fled on foot.

No physical injuries were incurred during the occurrence.

Hamilton Police B.E.A.R. Unit Detectives continued to investigate and on April 9, 2019, Michael Christopher was arrested and brought before the courts to answer to the charges.

Suspect #1 remains at large. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a grey hooded sweater, track pants, black gloves, shoes and a balaclava.
