Youth Arrested in Mountain Shooting

Hamilton Police have arrested a youth in connection with the April 8, 2019, shooting that took place on Upper Ottawa Street.

On Thursday, April 11, 2019, shortly before 8:30 p.m., Hamilton Police executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Upper Ottawa Street and Silverton Drive. A 16-year-old male from Hamilton was arrested in relation to the shooting incident.

The youth is expected to have a bail hearing today and faces the following charges:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded firearm
  • Point firearm, discharge firearm with intent
  • Reckless discharge of a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm, assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance

Hamilton Police Division 3 Detectives continue their investigation into the incident.
