Hamilton Police have arrested one man and are seeking a second following an investigation into a break-in at a City of Hamilton facility that resulted in two City vehicles being stolen.

On July 22, 2026, at approximately 12:24 a.m., two individuals entered a City of Hamilton facility in central Hamilton and stole several sets of keys belonging to City fleet vehicles. The suspects then left the area in a stolen City vehicle.

Within hours, one of the stolen vehicles was stopped by police in another jurisdiction for stunt driving and seized. At the time of the traffic stop, the vehicle had not yet been reported stolen.

As the investigation progressed, detectives with the Hamilton Police Break, Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) Unit connected the vehicle to the break-in. A second stolen City vehicle was later recovered by Hamilton Police during an unrelated investigation. Both vehicles have since been returned to the City of Hamilton.

Investigators identified two men and warrants were issued for their arrest.

Mark MCCOMBE, 55, was arrested in Toronto while attempting to board a flight leaving the country.

Brandon POOLE, 35, remains wanted and is believed to have no fixed address, frequenting the Hamilton, Niagara and Burlington areas.

Both men face the following charges:

• Break and Enter – Commit Theft
• Disguise with Intent
• Theft of a Motor Vehicle
