Hamilton Police Arrest Two Males in Daytime Shooting

Hamilton Police have arrested two males in relation to a daytime shooting earlier this morning.

On Thursday, November 25, 2021 shortly after 9:30 a.m. police received several 911 calls in relation to an active shooting in the area of Old Guelph Road and York Road.

Upon arrival police located one male, 22-years-of-age suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to hospital where he has since been treated and released.

Two males were observed by officers attempting to flee the area on foot. Both males were promptly placed under arrest.

Police believe that this was a targeted incident and are not seeking any further suspects.

The accused and the victim are known to each other.

It is important to note that the males responsible for this violent incident are being held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for Friday, November 26, 2021 and as such, cannot be identified at this time.

A police presence is expected in the area until approximately 6:30 p.m. as forensic detectives process the scene.

Investigators continue to work through this investigation as it remains on-going.
