Hamilton Police Investigating East Hamilton Prowler By Night

Hamilton Police Service is asking for public assistance to help identify a prowler on the East Mountain.

On Sunday, October 28, 2018, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a Good Samaritan observed a male suspect looking into a neighbour’s window at a home located on East 35th Street in Hamilton. The suspect was at the bedroom window of a woman in her twenties. The woman was awake in her bedroom at the time but did not notice the suspect.

The Good Samaritan went outside to confront the suspect and attempted to restrain him until police arrived. After a short struggle, the suspect was able to break free and flee the scene. The suspect may have sustained a cut on his face during the struggle. The Good Samaritan was not injured. Police searched the area but was unable to locate the suspect.

Police are canvassing the area for video and witnesses and have reviewed this occurrence with investigators of the West End Prowler incidents. At this time, police do not believe the incidents are related.

Suspect Description:

  • White male, approximately 25-years-old
  • 6’ tall, 210 pounds, medium build
  • Light colour hair with a brush cut and goatee
  • Wearing a waist length hooded jacket with strings on the collar

Hamilton Police encourage the public to call 9-1-1 to report any suspicious activity and be vigilant about locking doors and securing windows.
