Male Arrested for Assault on Cycling Couple

Hamilton Police has continued the investigation into the assault of a couple on the Waterfront Trail. The suspect was identified, arrested and appeared in court.

On Sunday, July 7, 2019, a couple was riding their bikes along the Waterfront Trail when they were confronted by a male cyclist. A physical altercation ensued and the suspect fled when police were called.

The investigation has continued and with the assistance of the public, the male was identified. He was arrested on Friday, August 9, 2019, in Burlington by Hamilton Police and held for a bail hearing.

Roderick Campbell is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, September 9, 2019.

Hamilton Police would like to thank the public for the numerous tips that were submitted as they resulted in the identification of the accused.
