Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Male for Assault of a Couple

Hamilton Police continue to investigate the assault of a couple who rode along the Waterfront Trail on July 7, 2019. If you have any information that could assist police, you are urged to contact 905-546-2963.

On Sunday, July 7, 2019, shortly before 2:30 p.m., Hamilton Police received information about an assault that was occurring along the Waterfront Trail near Wild Waterworks at Confederation Park. A couple in their early 50’s was riding on the trail when they were cut off by the suspect who began yelling at them. The couple stopped and the suspect deliberately rode into the male victim’s leg. The suspect grabbed the male’s shirt and hat. To create separation between the victim and the suspect the female attempted to pull the suspect off her partner but she was pushed away by the suspect who then spat in their direction and rode off as police were called.

The male victim received minor abrasions from the assault.
