Threats of Gunfire During Road Rage Incident

Hamilton Police have charged a youth after making threats with a handgun during a road rage incident in Stoney Creek, Hamilton.

On April 15, 2019, shortly before 10:30 p.m., a vehicle travelling eastbound along Main Street East was approaching King Street East in Hamilton when he noticed a blue Audi move in behind his car and start flashing his high beams. The Audi then pulled out to the right lane and paced the other driver’s speed while driving side by side. The driver rolled his window down and a short exchange of words with the Audi driver occurred. At this time the driver witnessed the Audi driver hold up and point what he believed to be a handgun before leaving the area.

Police quickly located the vehicle on Centennial Parkway and safely executed a vehicle stop. Police placed the driver under arrest after finding a metal pellet gun inside the vehicle.

  • 17-year-old (male) Stoney Creek resident

Charges:

  • Assault with weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The youth has been released on a Promise to Appear and expected to appear in court on May 17, 2019.
