Police Nab Sunday Morning Stunt Driver on Nikola Tesla Boulevard

Hamilton Police continue to focus efforts on Speed Enforcement in an order to make our streets safer for all. Extreme cases of Speeding fall under the offence of Stunt Driving which denotes speeding 50 km/hr or more above the posted speed limit. A zero tolerance approach has been taken by Hamilton Police for this offence.

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, shortly after 11:00 a.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on Nikola Tesla Boulevard at Ottawa Street North, Hamilton. A blue Jeep Wrangler was observed travelling westbound on Nikola Tesla Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Investigation revealed the vehicle was allegedly travelling 116km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone.

The vehicle has been impounded for seven days. The driver, a 21-year-old Stoney Creek woman has received an automatic seven-day driver’s licence suspension and is scheduled for a court appearance on November 14, 2018, to answer to the charges of:

  • Stunt Driving
  • Speeding – 116km/hr in a 60km/hr
