Arrest Made in Arson Investigation

Hamilton Police have charged a 32-year-old man in relation to a residential fire.

On Monday, December 5, 2022, at approximately 3:35 a.m., Hamilton Police and emergency partners responded to a residential fire on Burton Street. A family with young children were asleep within the residence at the time the house caught fire.

A neighbour extinguished the fire and alerted the residents of the home.  Without the assistance of this person the fire could have resulted in a tragedy.

Hamilton Police have identified and charged, Daniel William Arnold, a 32-year-old man of Cambridge for the following offences;

  • Arson - Disregard for Human Life
  • Fail to Comply Probation Adult

On behalf of the family and investigators, many thanks to multiple members of the community for coming forward and assisting with identifying the suspect involved in the arson.  The family was able to enjoy the holidays knowing the suspect was held in custody.
