Male Driver in Critical Condition After Collision

Hamilton man transported to hospital in critical condition after motor vehicle collision. 

On Friday July 1, 2022, at approximately 11:30p.m., Emergency Services and Hamilton Police responded for a motor vehicle collision involving two motor vehicles. The collision occurred at the intersection of Upper James Street and Inverness Avenue in the City of Hamilton.

A 31 year-old Hamilton man was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Upper James and Inverness Avenue when he was struck from behind. The driver of the other vehicle initially ran from the scene but was later apprehended. The 31 year-old Hamilton man was transported to hospital and is currently in critical condition.  

Due to the nature of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and has taken carriage of the investigation.

Speed and/or impairment have not been ruled out as factors in this collision.
