Female Driver Succumbs to Injuries Sustained in Motor Vehicle Collision

Hamilton police are urging a suspect driver from yesterday's Collison to turn himself in.

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021 shortly after 9:00 a.m., Hamilton police responded to the intersection of Maplewood Avenue and Balsam Avenue South for a Motor Vehicle Collision.

The vehicles involved were a white 2012 Hyundai Sonata and a stolen black 2008 GMC Sierra pick-up truck.

The Hyundai vehicle was travelling westbound on Maplewood Avenue when the southbound GMC vehicle proceeded through the stop sign on Balsam Avenue, subsequently striking the Hyundai.

The male driver of the GMC vehicle exited the vehicle and fled the scene eastbound towards Gage Park. The male did not offer any assistance to the other driver.

The female driver of the Hyundai vehicle, a 51-year-old Hamilton woman, was transported to hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
