Hamilton Police Arrest Man in Stabbing Incident

Hamilton Police arrested a 22-year-old Hamilton man in relation to an overnight stabbing incident in the Westdale area. He will appear in court later today to answer to the charge of Assault Cause Bodily Harm. The victim has received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, shortly after 2:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a call at McMaster Hospital for a victim of a stabbing. The victim, a 20-year-old male attended the emergency room after being stabbed in the upper body by a male known to him.

After conducting an investigation, Hamilton Police arrested a 22-year-old Hamilton man. Police believe an altercation occurred at a residence in the area of Sterling Street and Whitton Road around 2:00 a.m., This resulted in the victim being stabbed in the upper body with a knife. The victim attended McMaster Hospital and was later transported to a trauma hospital for further medical treatment.

The suspect will appear in court today to answer to the charge of Assault Cause Bodily Harm.
