Hamilton's 10th Homicide of 2019

About 1.35 am on Saturday 19th October 2019 reports of a male being shot outside Boulevard Billiards located at 303 York Blvd, Hamilton was received by police.

Upon the arrival of first responders, a male was found on the sidewalk outside the establishment with vital signs absent. He was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Forensic Pathology Unit at the Hamilton General Hospital where an autopsy will be conducted later this morning.

Police have tentatively identified the victim and are awaiting confirmation upon the post mortem being completed.

A number of witnesses were interviewed by detectives. As a result of statements obtained police are now looking for two male suspects who were seen arguing with the victim prior to him being shot.

Suspect #1: A lighter-skinned black male, no facial hair, wearing a dark toque, dark hoody and dark puffy jacket.

Suspect #2: A darker-skinned black male, wearing a dark hoody, dark pants and a dark jacket.

The scene on York Blvd is still being processed by Forensic Investigators and they are expected to be there throughout today.

A canvas of the area will be undertaken to identify surveillance cameras and potential witnesses to assist with this investigation. Police are asking for anyone in the area who has surveillance footage, which may be of assistance, to call them.

The motive for the murder is unknown and the weapon has not been recovered.
