Hamilton Police are investigating an assault that took place near Valley Park Recreation Center on the Stoney Creek mountain.

On Wednesday September 16, 2026 at approximately 7:30p.m., a female youth was walking along the sidewalk of Mud Street near First Road West when she was approached by two males on an E-Scooter. The males produced a BB gun and fired multiple pellets toward her as they scootered by.

The victim continued walking and encountered the males a second time near a pedestrian tunnel close to Valley Park Recreation Center. The males began firing more pellets while the victim attempted to run away.

A description of the suspects could not be obtained, however officers are working on collecting CCTV footage from homes and businesses in the area and are also appealing for witnesses.

Police believe this attack was completely random and are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the on-duty Division 20 Staff Sergeant at 905-546-2963.
