Around 12.30 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019, a 43-year-old male occupant of 34 Marina Point Cres, Stoney Creek answered his door and was shot several times by an unknown suspect. 911 was called and the male was transported to hospital where he is recovering after surgery.

This was a targeted and specific attack. The initial investigation was handled by the Division 20 Criminal Investigation Branch but due to the circumstances, the case has now been transferred to the Major Crime Unit.

Police will be in the area of Marina Point Crescent this morning canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and surveillance footage.

A black SUV type vehicle was observed leaving the area immediately after the incident. Investigators are interested in identifying this vehicle and speaking to the driver to determine if it was involved.
