Male Arrested for Convenience Store Robberies

Police have arrested a Hamilton man involved in three robberies at local businesses.

Hamilton Police B.E.A.R. Unit was able to identify a robbery suspect involved in two convenience stores and one gas bar robbery between March and April 2020. The 35-year-old male was arrested on April 29, 2020, in the area of King Street East in Hamilton. He was brought into central custody and charged with several robbery offences.

On March 7, 2020, shortly after 6:00 p.m., a disguised male entered a convenience store on Walnut Street in Hamilton. He fought with the employee while trying to grab cash from the register. He left on foot with money and there were no injuries to the store employee.

On April 8, 2020, shortly before 11:00 p.m., two males entered a gas bar on King Street West and committed a robbery. One male threatened the employee with a knife while another male walked around the counter to grab money from the register before fleeing on foot. The employee did not sustain any injuries.

On April 25, 2020, shortly after 11:30 p.m., a male entered a convenience store on Queen Street South in Hamilton. The male threatened the employee with a hammer before escaping on foot with the store money. The employee did not sustain any injuries.
