Hamilton Police continue to investigate an overnight shooting that took the life of a 36-year-old Hamilton man.

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, shortly before 11:00 p.m. Hamilton Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the area of Herkimer Street and Caroline Street South. Upon arrival, police confirmed a shooting incident took place and located a man suffering from gunshot wounds in an alley. The man was transported to hospital where he then succumbed to his injuries.

Shortly thereafter, police received information that an individual appeared at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police are now investigating if the two incidents are related and continue to hold the scene at Herkimer Street and Caroline Street South, where multiple bullet casings were located.
