Overnight Assault ends with Male in Hospital with Serious Injuries

Hamilton Police investigated an overnight alteration that resulted in a male in his thirties receiving non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is in its early stages.

On Thursday, May 2, 2019, shortly before 4:00 a.m., Hamilton Police received information about an incident that included a group of males involved in an altercation in the area of King Street East and St Clair Avenue. One male ended up on the ground while others fled the area.

Upon arrival police located a male in his thirties with life-threatening injuries believed to be caused by a sharp object. The male was subsequently transported to the hospital and his condition has been upgraded to serious but not life-threatening.

Residents in the area are asked to check their security cameras for suspicious activity and contact police.

The investigation is in the early stages and interviews will take place today by the Central Division Detectives to determine suspect descriptions, weapon used and motives.
