Hamilton Police Detectives continue to investigate two robberies that occurred on Saturday evening in the west end of Hamilton. At this time there is no evidence to suggest the incidents are related, however, police are reminding the community to be aware of their surroundings at all time.

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, shortly after 6:30 p.m., two male victims, 17 and 19-years-of-age were in a parking lot at the intersection of Main Street West and Bowman Street when they were approached by a group which included males and females. One victim was assaulted by a suspect while personal items were taken from him and the other victim.

The suspects left the scene. One suspect is described as being was being male, black, 5’10 with a small build. The group is believed to be ranging in age from 18-25-years-of-age.

The victim did not require medical attention.

Later that evening, shortly after 8:00 p.m., an 18-year-old male was visiting a McMaster student. While sitting outside a residence he was approached by a white male who assaulted him and demanded a personal item in his possession. The victim turned over the item and the suspect along with four other white males fled the scene.

The incident was initially reported to McMaster Security who contacted Hamilton Police. Both agencies continue to investigate the incident.

At this time there is no evidence to suggest the incidents are related, however, Hamilton Police would like to remind the public to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
