Hamilton Police have launched an investigation after multiple shots were fired in Hamilton’s east end.

On Friday, January 12, 2024, shortly before 1:50 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a surge of 911 calls reporting a shooting incident in the area of Garside Avenue South and Main Street.

Police responded to the area and located evidence consistent with a shooting. No physical injuries had occurred from the incident. The shooting is believed to be targeted.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and there are no suspect descriptions at this time.

Hamilton Police are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 2:15 a.m. for any suspicious activity and to contact police. Detectives are also asking if you were driving in the area and have dash camera footage that would be suitable for review please contact the investigators.
