Hamilton Police recently investigated a known repeat offender for break and enter incidents. Two search warrants were executed that resulted in the recovery of stolen items valued in excess of $35,000. Police are attempting to identify the owners of the property.

In early September, Hamilton Police identified a known offender was actively conducting break and enter offences in the Hamilton area. At that time an in-depth investigation was initiated.

On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, after a lengthy investigation conducted by the Hamilton Police BEAR Unit, Shawn Hunt and Lindsay Oak were arrested. Search warrants were executed at their residence in Smithville and a storage unit related to them in Hamilton. This investigation resulted in the seizure of numerous stolen items and a firearm, linked to Break and Enter incidents throughout the Hamilton area.

The Hamilton Police Service estimates the value of recovered items to be in excess of $35,000. This includes motorcycles, job site equipment, power tools, lawnmowers etc.

This is an ongoing investigation and police anticipate additional charges will be laid in the future.
