Hamilton Police continue to investigate a shooting incident that occurred in the north end of the city. The parties involved in the shooting fled prior to police arrival. This is the fourth shooting incident for the year. Witnesses are asked to contact the Central Detectives office by calling 905-546-3816.

On Sunday, February 3, 2019, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received information gunshots were fired in the area of Wentworth Street North and Barton Street East. The persons involved in the incident fled prior to police arrival. Once on scene police secured the immediate area as the investigation continued.

At this time police have no evidence to support anyone was injured during this incident. Police believe this to be targeted.

The investigation continues and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and provide information.
