Shot Fired Near King and Caroline

Hamilton Police are actively investigating a shooting incident near King Street and Caroline Street, following reports of a discharged firearm.

At approximately noon, Hamilton Police responded to a verbal dispute between two teenagers and two individuals in high-visibility vests at a bus shelter. The altercation escalated, and one of the youth fired a shot. Fortunately, there are no reported injuries.

Following a tip that one suspect might have headed towards Bernie Custis Secondary School, the police placed the school in Lockdown. Police thoroughly searched the school and did not locate the suspect. The investigation into the King and Caroline Street shooting is ongoing.

The incident is not connected to the Lockdown that took place at Bernie Custis Secondary School on November 29, 2023.
