Body of Former NHL Goaltender Ray Emery Recovered in Hamilton Harbour

Hamilton Police Service have recovered the body of former NHL goaltender Ray Emery, 35. Emery disappeared while swimming early this morning with friends.

On July 15, 2018, shortly after 6:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to reports of a possible drowning near Leander Boat Club. With the assistance of the Niagara Regional Police dive unit, the swimmer was recovered at 2:50 p.m. near the location where he was last seen. Emery's family has been notified and his cause of death will be confirmed pending a post-mortem.
