Female Charged in Sexual Assault Investigation Involving Vulnerable Youth

Hamilton Police Sex Crimes Unit has charged 30-year-old Karly Tripp in relation to a Sexual Assault investigation.

Tripp met the victim, a student who required supports, while fraudulently working as an Educational Assistant within the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board.

In September of 2025, the victim’s family was led to believe that Tripp was a qualified respite worker and she began meeting with the victim outside of her role with the school. It was during these interactions that the offences occurred.

Tripp has been charged with Sexual Assault, Assault, Voyeurism and Utter Threat to Cause Death in relation to this investigation.

Tripp is currently incarcerated on other charges.

Hamilton Police believe Tripp may have targeted other vulnerable persons through her employment and that there may be more victims.
