Hamilton Police Appeal for Information in Gordon Street Shooting

Hamilton Police continue to appeal for information on the shooting of a 7-year-old boy at a residence on Gordon Street in Hamilton.

On January 23, 2020, at 7:53 p.m., Hamilton Police were dispatched to a residence for reports of a shooting. Police arrived to find a 7-year-old child who was injured as a result of multiple gun shots into the house. The shots were fired into the residence from the rear yard.

After discharging the firearm, the suspect fled from the rear yard into a vehicle waiting on Gordon Street and sped east. The vehicle has been described as a light-coloured four-door sedan. Police believe the residence was targeted and the child was an unintended victim.

The child is still recovering in hospital.

The family has been cooperating with police but there has been varying degrees of cooperation from the other individuals in the residence at the time. Police believe there are people who know what happened and encourage those individuals to come forward.
