Hamilton Police Issue Warrant for Gordon Street Shooter

Hamilton Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 20-year-old Jayden Pitter for the shooting of a seven-year-old boy on Gordon Street last month.

On January 23, 2020, at 7:53 p.m., Hamilton Police were dispatched to a residence for reports of a shooting. Police arrived to find a 7-year-old child who was injured as a result of multiple gun shots into the house. The shots were fired into the residence from the rear yard.

After discharging the firearm, police believe the suspect fled from the rear yard into a vehicle waiting on Gordon Street and sped east. The vehicle has now been identified but the firearm involved is still outstanding.

The child is now out of hospital but faces a long road to recovery.

Jayden Pitter faces the following charges:

  • Discharge Firearm with Intent
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Fail to comply Probation x2
  • Fail to comply Youth Probation x2
  • Fail to comply Recognizance
  • Fail to comply Prohibition Order x3

Police believe there are people who know what happened and continue to encourage those individuals to come forward.

Pitter is considered dangerous. If you see him, please do not approach and call 911 immediately.
