Hamilton Police Investigate RHVP Collision

Hamilton Police Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate a collision that sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, April 20, 2019, shortly after 5:30 p.m., a Ford pick-up truck was travelling northbound in the far right lane on the Red Hill Valley Parkway at the King Street on-ramp. At that time the vehicle made contact with the east shoulder and the driver lost control. The pick-up truck slid across the northbound lanes, through the grass median colliding head-on with a GMC van which was travelling southbound in the passing lane of the R.H.V.P.

Two other vehicles travelling southbound on the R.H.V.P were unable to avoid the initial collision and subsequently collided.

The driver of the GMC van, a 43-year-old Toronto man was initially transported to the hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening. He currently remains in hospital in stable condition.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collisions or has information and has yet to speak with detectives, to contact the Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit (905)546-4755.
