Looking to Identify Suspect Involved in Assault

Hamilton Police are trying to identify a male suspect involved in an assault. If you have a business or live in the area of Maple Avenue and Kenilworth Avenue South please check your surveillance cameras between the hours of 8:15 p.m., and 9:00 p.m., on Friday, October 26, 2019.

On October 26, 2019, shortly before 9:00 p.m., a male driver travelling eastbound on Maple Avenue in Hamilton stopped his car at the Kenilworth Avenue South intersection. While stopped an unknown male crossed the intersection and threw something at the vehicle causing a loud thud to be heard. The driver exited his car to examine for damages and made a comment to the male. The remark sparked a reaction from the suspect to walk over and repeatedly assault the driver, causing injuries to his face.

Bystanders in the area came to the driver’s aid. The suspect was last seen running southbound on Kenilworth Avenue South.

Suspect Description:

  • Male white, approximately 6 feet
  • 20-30-years-old
  • Wearing a grey jacket, navy blue jeans and a yellow & black Tiger-Cats scarf around his neck
