After receiving information from the community, Hamilton Police shut down a local drug house and located a second one where six people were charged with trafficking. A variety of illicit drugs have been seized with a street value well over $5000.00.

In working with the community, Hamilton Police was made aware that a local male was trafficking controlled substances from his residence in the Dunsmure Road and Gage Avenue area. On Thursday, February 7, 2019, police executed a search warrant at the residence. Once inside the residence police located several illicit drugs.

The following controlled substances were located during the warrant execution and have been seized.

• Cocaine – 20 grms
• Methamphetamine - 25.5 grms
• Oxycocet - 43 pills
• Drug Paraphernalia
• Evidence to support drug trafficking
• Unknown - 60 pills

It is believed the drugs have an estimated street value of $4700.00.

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Oxycocet
• Possession purpose of trafficking – Psilocybin
• Possession proceeds of crime under $5000.00.

On Saturday, February 9, 2019, shortly before 12:30 p.m., police attended a residence in the area of Cathcart Street and Kelly Street to check for two wanted parties. Although not a resident of the premise, one of the parties answered the door and was arrested. In plain view, police observed several pieces of evidence to support the trafficking of illicit drugs.   

The following controlled substance was located during the investigation and seized. 

• Fentanyl - 5 grms
• Undisclosed amount of Canadian currency
• Drug Paraphernalia 

Six parties from the Hamilton area were arrested and transported to police custody. Two were held for a bail hearing while four were issued a future court date to answer to the charges.
