Hamilton Police Appeal for Witnesses After Shooting

Hamilton Police Service is appealing for witnesses after a shooting on Barton Street sent two men to hospital. 

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019, Hamilton Police were dispatched to the area of 394 Barton Street East for a shooting that had just occurred.

Patrol officers responded quickly. Two injured males were located and taken to hospital.

The initial investigation indicates that this incident was a targeted shooting.

Police will be in the area canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance footage. Police are requesting residents and business owners in the area with video surveillance cameras to check their systems for any suspicious people or vehicles in the area.

The Hamilton Police Major Crime Unit and the Shooting Task Force are investigating this matter, the investigation is in its infancy. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
