Suspect Clothing and Firearm Still Outstanding

Hamilton Police are asking residents and business owners in the area of Barton Street to Cannon Street East and Smith Avenue to Oak Avenue to check their outbuildings, garbage cans and property for any discarded clothing and possible firearm used during the Barton Street shooting. If located, please do not touch the items and call 911 immediately.

The Hamilton Police Major Crime Unit and the Make Safe Shooting Taskforce continue to investigate the shooting that took place on February 22, 2019, at 394 Barton Street East, Hamilton. The shooting sent a 26-year-old male and 23-year-old male to hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Investigators continue to search for the outstanding suspect and believe the suspect discarded clothing and a firearm during the escape. Police have extensively searched the area with negative results.

If any suspicious clothing or firearm is located please do not touch the items and call 911.
