Update: Girlfriend Charged for Storing Loaded Handgun Inside Car

The girlfriend of Tyrell Edwards-Lafleur has been charged after police located a loaded handgun inside her vehicle.

Hamilton Police have identified the involvement of a 2016 Nissan Altima. Police believe it was used to transport Tyrell Edwards-Lafleur and Noah Hope to and from the area of the Barton Street East shooting on February 22, 2019. The vehicle is registered to a 24-year-old Hamilton woman, who is the girlfriend of Tyrell Edwards-Lafleur.

A search warrant for the vehicle was granted and it was examined by the Hamilton Police Forensics Unit. A loaded 9mm handgun was located within a hidden compartment inside the vehicle.

As a result, Tyrell Edwards-Lafleur and Kendra Omega Davis will face the following firearm charges.

Charges:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless use (transportation, storage) of a firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

Edwards-Lafleur received an additional charge of Possession contrary to order.

Police are still receiving data and reviewing video surveillance footage. Additional charges may follow.
