UPDATE: Underground Parking Lot Suspect Arrested

A 30-year-old United States citizen has been identified as the male involved in the downtown underground parking lot robbery.

On January 29, 2020, shortly before 10:00 p.m., an out of town person exited their parked vehicle from an underground parking spot in the area of King Street West and Bay Street North in Hamilton. The woman began walking from her car when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male.

Hamilton police were able to confirm his identity through investigative techniques. On January 30, 2020, shortly before 5:30 p.m., police located the male at the Toronto Pearson International Airport waiting to board a plane home. The male was arrested and brought back to Hamilton Police were he remains in custody with his bail opposed.
