Hamilton Police have charged a male after an attempted child abduction yesterday afternoon.

On Thursday, August 25, 2022, at approximately 12:17 p.m., a male suspect attempted to lure a three-year-old child away from his mother in the area of Mary Street and Cannon Street East in Hamilton.

The male approached the three-year-old boy and attempted to pull him away from his mother who was nearby. Witnesses intervened and the child was unharmed. The man was arrested leaving the area and appeared in court this morning.

Arrested:             34-year-old Hamilton male

Charges:              Abduction of Person Under Age of 14
