Hamilton Police have arrested two individuals and are seeking a third following a shooting investigation in Dundas.

On Friday, September 4, 2026, shortly before 7:00 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of John Prentice Park, near Renata Court. Officers located three males near a wooded area of the park. Two were arrested nearby, while a third fled the area.

The Shooting Response Team, with assistance from Divisional Criminal Investigations, assumed carriage of the investigation and determined that a firearm had been discharged multiple times.

On September 8, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a Hamilton residence and seized several firearms, ammunition, armoured plating and tactical equipment.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been charged:

• A 27-year-old Oakville man with Careless Use of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
• A 25-year-old Thornbury man with Careless Use of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

A 25-year-old Dundas man has also been identified and is currently wanted for Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

Investigators continue to seek information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dash camera, residential security or cellphone video from the area at the time of the shooting.
