Police Make Arrest in Downtown Stabbing Incident
Hamilton Police have arrested a 28-year-old male in connection with a stabbing that occurred in lower Hamilton.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police were called to the area of King Street and Victoria Avenue North following reports of a stabbing. Initial information indicated that a male had been injured and that the suspect remained in the vicinity.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 26-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to his torso. Police immediately provided first aid before the victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was located within minutes and taken into custody without incident.
The accused has been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Aggravated Assault
