On Saturday July 18, 2026, shortly before 9:30 AM a silver Hyundai motor vehicle being operated by a 22-year-old-female was westbound on the Wilson Street near Trinity Road.  The Hyundai swerved into the eastbound lane and struck an eastbound Cadillac being operated by a 51-year-old-female. As a result of the collision, both motor vehicles became fully engulfed in flames. 

The 22-year-old-female suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene. The occupant of Cadillac was transported to hospital and subsequently released. 

The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit was called and has carriage of the investigation. Both directions of Wilson Street between Trinity Road and Alberton Road were closed for several hours for the investigation.
