Two Arrested in Molotov Cocktail and Stolen Auto Investigation
Two males have been arrested, and a Molotov cocktail has been seized following an overnight investigation into a stolen vehicle.
On July 23, 2026, at approximately 11:55p.m., Hamilton Police were proactively patrolling the area of Upper Horning Road when a stolen black Honda Civic vehicle was spotted. A traffic stop was attempted; however, the vehicle attempted to flee, striking a marked Police cruiser in the process.
The two occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot while officers gave chase. Both were taken into police custody and one of the males suffered an injury. As a result, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has invoked their mandate.
During a search of the vehicle, officers located a Molotov cocktail. The device was seized and the vehicle was towed for further examination.
A 17-year-old male youth from York and a 22-year-old male from Brampton will now go before the courts to face the following charges:
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00
· Flight from Police Officer
· Possession of Incendiary Material
· Possession Contrary to Order
