Hamilton Police have arrested a man after he was observed possessing and consuming illegal drugs in public.

On March 21, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a pair of Hamilton Police officers conducting proactive patrols in the area of King Street West and West Avenue observed a group of individuals behaving suspiciously.

While monitoring the group, the officers witnessed one individual consuming illegal drugs using a glass pipe. As a result of these observations, the officers approached and arrested the 41-year-old Hamilton man.

A subsequent search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of a quantity of illegal drugs and related paraphernalia, including:

• 227 Dilaudid pills
• 8.16 grams of fentanyl
• 2.5 grams of methamphetamine
• A digital scale with drug residue
• Two cellular phones

The accused has been charged with:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4
• Possession of Proceeds of Crime
• Fail to Comply with a Probation Order
