UPDATE - Angelo Musitano Homicide

On May 2, 2017 shortly before 4 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a 911 call at 14 Chesapeake Drive, Waterdown. Upon arrival, they found Angelo Musitano (39 years) inside his vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

As previously reported, a 2006 Ford Fusion, burgundy in colour with rusty wheel rims was later identified as being the vehicle used by the killer. This same vehicle had been seen in and around the area during the previous week and appeared to have been conducting surveillance on Angelo Musitano.

This Ford Fusion was recovered on May 7, 2017 in the area of Fenton Drive and Braeheid Avenue, Waterdown. Police believe the culprit then fled in a second vehicle from this location.

Investigators had asked residents and businesses in the neighbourhood to provide any surveillance video to police to assist in solving this homicide. As a result, police obtained video footage from multiple locations covering the week leading up to the murder. This resulted in the acquisition of thousands of hours of potential video evidence.

A review of this video material has led investigators to believe that more than one person was involved in stalking Angelo Musitano, and more than one vehicle was used to accomplish this task.

The 2006 Ford Fusion used by the killer has now been directly linked to a 2006 to 2011 black, two door, Honda Civic. A single male operating the Ford Fusion was observed arriving and leaving in the Honda Civic during the period Angelo Musitano was being followed.

What is believed to be a 2017, Chevrolet Malibu, red in colour was also captured on video in and around the Chesapeake Drive area during this period, and on the day prior to the murder appeared to be watching Angelo Musitano’s residence on two separate occasions. The Malibu drove off as soon as Angelo Musitano arrived home in his white pick-up truck

A fourth vehicle, described as a grey or blue coloured Infiniti sedan, was also observed by a witness in the Braeheid Avenue area interacting with the burgundy Ford Fusion in the days leading up to the murder.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have observed any of these vehicles around the area between April 27 and May 2, 2017, or any suspicious circumstances, to contact them.

The suspect is described as a white male, stocky/ athletic build, wearing a black toque, black jacket, grey pants and black shoes.

Anyone owning a 2006 to 2011 black, two door, Honda Civic, in and around May 2, 2017, can anticipate a visit from police as investigators attempt to identify the particular vehicle captured in the attached photo.

If you have any information that you believe could assist police with the investigation into this crime you are asked to contact Detective Jason Cattle by calling 905-546-4167.
