Hamilton Man Charged for Break and Enter in West Hamilton

Hamilton Police have identified and arrested a male responsible for Break and Enters in the West Hamilton and Westdale areas. Detectives believe the male is also responsible for three prowler calls.

In September 2018, there was a high volume of Break and Enters and prowler incidents in the Westdale community. These incidents resulted in an increase in police presence and safety messages urging the public to be vigilant about locking doors and securing windows.

In a few instances, women woke up to find an unknown male in their room. Detectives continue to investigate all the Westdale incidents from August and September 2018.

Police have seen a decrease in suspicious calls and break and enters in Westdale during October. At this time, it is too early to link all the cases to one individual.

Charged:

Steven Brady (49-years-old), Hamilton resident

  • Break and Enter x 2
  • Assault
  • Theft x 2
  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Fail to comply with probation x 2

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity in the area to Hamilton Police at 905-546-4861, McMaster Security Dispatch at 905-525-9140 ext.24281 or 911 for a crime in progress. Doors and windows that are easily accessible should be locked and secured.
