Hamilton Police Continue Increased Presence in Westdale

Hamilton Police continue to investigate a number of suspicious circumstances and break and enters in the Westdale area.

On September 7, 2018, shortly before 1:00 a.m., police responded to the area of Cline Avenue North, Hamilton. A female living in the residence was asleep with her boyfriend in their second story bedroom. The female awoke to a creaking noise on the stairs and sat up to find a silhouette of a person standing in the bedroom doorway. The male then quickly exited down the stairs.

Suspect Description:

  • White male
  • 5’8, with a thin build
  • Wearing dark clothing

Police also responded to two other calls on September 6 and 7, 2018, involving possible trespassers.

  • September 6, 2018, shortly after 11:30 p.m., a female resident living on Cline Avenue North heard a knock on her window but never looked out. No description was provided and there were no signs of any attempted entry.
  • September 7, 2018, shortly after 1:30 a.m., two female tenants on Paisley Avenue South saw a male with an unkempt beard, 25 to 30-years-old, peering through the front window.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity in the area to Hamilton Police at 905-546-4861, McMaster Security Dispatch at 905-525-9140 ext.24281 or 911 for a crime in progress. Doors and windows that are easily accessible should be locked and secured.

The incidents follow several suspicious circumstances and break and enters in the Westdale area. Hamilton Police continue to investigate and have increased their presence in the Westdale community.
