Hamilton Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding an Assault with a Weapon that took place last evening and are asking anyone with information to report it to investigators.

On Friday December 1, 2023, at approximately 8:30pm, Hamilton Police responded to a 911 call in the area of Concession Street and East 34th Street in the City of Hamilton. Police located a 24 year old male victim suffering from stab wounds to his back and right side of his body, believed to be caused by an edged weapon. The male was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Police believe this assault to be a targeted incident with no threat to the public. 

As a result of the investigation, police have identified a 24-year-old male suspect to be charged with Assault with a Weapon.  As the information has not been sworn to before the courts, the suspect's name cannot be released at this time.
