In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 11^th, 2026, shortly before 03:00am, Hamilton Police were called to the area of Fennel Avenue East and East 26^th Street for a ‘Stabbing’ call.  Upon arrival, officers located a female with minor stab wounds.  She has since been treated, and remains in stable condition.  The male suspect in the matter was located and arrested without incident. 

A 41yr old Hamilton man has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Arson.

During the course of the investigation, a section of Fennell Avenue East (East 28^th to Upper Sherman Avenue) was closed to allow Forensic Investigators to process the scene.  This section should be re-opened within the next hour.
