Five Youths Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Investigation

On March 24, 2026, members of the Hamilton Police High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) observed a black Acura SUV travelling at a dangerous rate of speed in the area of King Street and Sherman Avenue. Officers also noted multiple occupants inside the vehicle and that the rear licence plate was displayed upside down.

Due to the high volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the area, officers coordinated a safe and timely approach to contain the vehicle. Upon stopping, the occupants attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended. All five individuals were arrested without incident.

Through investigation, officers determined the vehicle had been reported stolen. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of multiple licence plates and drug paraphernalia.

Five male youths have been charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Without Consent
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

The investigation remains ongoing.
