Hamilton Police have charged a 20-year-old male in relation to the shooting of Myah Larmond.

On July 16, 2020, Hamilton Police responded to a 911 call shortly after 4:00 a.m. on St. Matthews Avenue. Upon arriving, police located a 17-year-old female with a gunshot wound. She was transported to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Shortly after the incident, 21-year-old Devante Skye-Davis was charged with Manslaughter. Since then, investigators have been working to identify one unknown male who fled the residence after shooting.

This male has now been identified as 20-year-old Cadence Beauparlant of Hamilton. He appeared earlier today at the John Sopinka Courthouse and has been charged with Manslaughter and Unauthorized possession of a loaded firearm. At this time, Police are satisfied that all persons at the house party at the time of the shooting have been identified.
