Hamilton Man Charged with Internet Child Exploitation Offences

The Hamilton Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit conducted an investigation into a male using a file storage application to upload child pornography and in doing so was in possession of the material. The male was identified as being from the City of Hamilton and on Thursday, May 2, 2019, members of the ICE Unit, Technological Crime Unit, and uniform patrol executed a search warrant at a Hamilton residence.

During the execution of the warrant,  a 24-year-old man was arrested. He appeared in court in relation to child exploitation offences.

The ICE Unit continues its investigation of evidence gathered and a forensic examination of the material could lead to further charges.

CHARGES

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Failure to Comply with a Probation Order x4
