Hamilton Police Charge Male With Aggravated Assault

Hamilton Police have charged a 32-year-old male after an aggravated assault over the weekend.

Shortly before 9:00 a.m. on January 6, 2024, a distraught 26-year-old female attended Christ Cathedral on James St. North suffering from significant injuries. The victim said she had been held captive at an unknown apartment where she had been seriously assaulted.

Officers were able to determine the assault had taken place at an apartment at 181 Jackson Street. Police secured the area and arrested three individuals. After investigation, a 32-year-old male from Hamilton was charged with the following offences:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Utter threat
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Choking
